Euston – A cosy Stromness bungalow with stunning views over Scapa Flow
Euston is a comfortable 2-bedroom bungalow offering a bright, peaceful place to stay in Stromness. Both bedrooms have kingsize beds, and one includes its own private toilet (not a full en-suite, as there’s no bath or shower). There’s also a main bathroom.
Inside, the house has a cosy sitting room and a well-equipped kitchen, giving you everything you need for a relaxed stay. One of the real highlights of Euston is the beautiful view over Scapa Flow, where you can watch the boats coming and going throughout the day.
Euston is also perfectly placed for walkers, with Brinkies Brae right on the doorstep. This popular hill offers a short but rewarding climb with spectacular views across Stromness and the surrounding coastline.
Although Euston sits in a central part of Stromness, it’s tucked away in a quiet area with its own garden and private driveway, offering a sense of privacy while still being close to everything. Please note: the garden is on a slope, so it may not be ideal for young children.
Whether you’re visiting for exploring, walking, or simply unwinding, Euston provides a peaceful base with fantastic views across Orkney’s coastline.

Directions to Euston
Euston is located at the bottom of Downies Lane.
From the main roundabout in Stromness, next to the primary school:
If arriving from the Hamnavoe ferry, take the first left at the roundabout.
If coming from Kirkwall over Howe, go straight on at the roundabout.
If entering Stromness past the swimming pool, take the third exit at the roundabout.
Continue along the road. You will pass the fire station on the right, followed by the Blue Star Garage. Take the next right after the Blue Star Garage, which leads onto Back Road.
Follow Back Road uphill. At the top of the hill, turn right onto Downies Lane.
Euston is the first house on the right on Downies Lane. It has a private driveway with a white garage door.
Please note: the garage is not available for guest use.
